Known to all who have walked through New Zealand forests, this agile flier provides a close companion to anyone who is brushing against foliage and dislodging small insects. This food supply is caught on the wing, with fast twists and turns, coming close to the walker. Beautiful to watch, and beautiful to hear, the urge to greet it is not resisted by many.
